Club Ambassador or Club Emissary?

District News

By: Emily L Drenberg, DTM, IPDD, Webmaster

District 48 now has 2 exciting programs that reward members for reaching out to other clubs.

The Club Ambassador Program started in 2015. This program rewards Toastmasters who attend other club meetings beyond the club in which they are members. In order to qualify, the Toastmaster cannot be a member of the club, or have been in a member in the past year for any club they visit. Simply attend another club, and submit a report of that visit.

This will place you on the leaderboard at: https://district48.org/club-ambassador-visitation-survey/

What will the Club Ambassador Earn?

Visit 3 – 5 clubs and submit club visit form:

    • BRONZE Ambassador Pin
    • Recognition at the District Conferences

The Club Emissary Program is brand new for this 2019-2020 year.  With this program, the participating Toastmaster chooses to visit the SAME club several times in order to help them increase their membership. The club in question must be between 13 – 19 members to qualify for the Emissary Program. The Toastmaster’s goal is to serve as a surrogate mentor/coach to increase the membership and the quality of the club. Please contact CGD Nick Angelo for a list of clubs that are eligible for the Emissary Program. Nick can be reached at [email protected]

The Club Emissary receives everything that the Club Ambassador does the addition of a specialized certificate denoting their contributions.

How do you choose which program is best for you?

If you enjoy networking with different people in changing environments, then Club Ambassador is the perfect fit for you!

If you prefer to try your hand at coaching a club, Club Emissary may be the better fit. With Club Emissary, you get to take your first steps in coaching without the pressure that is part of the Club Coach program. Plus you visit the club repeatedly while helping them achieve their membership goals.

Regardless of which program you choose, both you and the clubs you visit will benefit.
