Tracking Your (Club) Pathways Progress

From Our Members

By: Sean F. Forrester, DTM, Chief Educational Ambassador, District 48

One of the questions I was asked several times at the recent Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) events this season is “How do I track my club members’ progress in Pathways?”. While the Base Camp Managers have been shown how to monitor their club members progress within the Base Camp software, sometimes it is nice to have a visual tool at the meeting to help motivate one another.

Luckily, there is a wonderful resource available on the District 48 website that can help. It is located on the Paths and Projects sub-menu under Pathways (https://district48.org/paths-and-projects/) and it is marked with the blue button Pathways Member Progress Tracker.

Once you download and open this Excel spreadsheet, there is a great little Introductory tab that explains each of the tabs available. The next four tabs may be used by an individual to track their own progress through each of their two paths, as well as the non-Path requirements for obtaining a Pathways Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Award. The sixth tab is an alternative format that may be printed and used manually by an individually, in the event that s/he doesn’t want to maintain it electronically.

The final tab in this Excel spreadsheet is perhaps the most valuable. A Vice President of Education (VPE) or any Base Camp Manager can update this tab with their club members, and then track their individual progress on a regular basis. Printing and posting one’s entire club members’ Pathways journey becomes a snap!
